Team Kenya Outreach (TKO) supports the New Scent Centre International, a female-led Kenyan organization rescuing girls from human trafficking and providing housing and education resources for at-risk young people.
Flora Mwikali’s New Scent Centre is located 70 miles east of Nairobi, rescuing girls from off the streets and out of vulnerable homes, focusing on victims of sexual abuse, sex trafficking, and forced incest. New Scent offers institutionalized services to survivors of rape and sexual assault, as well as awareness programs concerning gender-based violence, alcoholism, and substance abuse in pursuit of a healed and restored society.
Their website says it best: The major objective for the New Scent Centre is to restore dignity, honor, self-worth, livelihood and a measure of normalcy to girls and women who have suffered rape and sexual assault as a form of gender-based violence.
